 Hello, My name is Cheryl and I am deeply grateful to serve as your Senior Yoga teacher, Trainer and Mentor 


 I have worked within the field of fitness, movement, nutrition and health at a very demanding level across 30 years. 


My love for movement started at 8 years old, when I discovered ballet and was blessed to train with 

The Royal Ballet School in London. 


I graduated at 18 and then enjoyed a global career as a ballerina and contemporary dancer. After retiring I began leading and creating dance courses in Leicester Universities and Colleges, which pathed the way for co-founding a dance academy in Leicester to support the development of young dancers and their careers. 


I then integrated Sports and Personal Training into my services and became a L3 and 4 PT and nutritionist, and supported the wellbeing of others from a recovery and rehabilitation perspective, and even now I work with professional level sports teams such our wonderful Leicester Tigers. 


My practice and experience was again deepened when I met Anne Marie Newland 15 years ago and trained as a Sun Power Yoga Teacher. The Sun Power Yoga Shala is an international school of yoga with roots in India and real yoga tradition, Anne Marie not only taught me the powerful blend of Sivananda, Iyengar and Ashtanga styles of yoga (which combine breathwork, intelligent sequencing and strong flows) but also a rich spiritual path of mindfulness and personal development which I am forever grateful for. 


It is now our one simple mission to serve and support as many people as we can ‘collectively’ through our shared experiences, knowledge and expertise, to build a stronger sense of community where we can learn more about ourselves, find peace, laughter and thrive emotionally, physically, mentally, professionally and spiritually.

Meet Senior Yoga Teacher Sherraine!

I have been teaching Adults and Children’s Yoga since 2015. 


My background is Contemporary & Commercial Dance, so moving into Yoga, was a natural progression for me.


 Yoga, meaning union of the mind, body through the breath, along with a regular meditation practice, hooked me and I felt the mental and physical benefits for myself very quickly. 


I am a 500hr Sun Power Yoga teacher, this is a blend of Sivananda, for breath work (pranayama), Iyengar, for alignment and Ashtanga Vinyasa (asana) for flow, creating heat within the body, which creates balance both physically and mentally. 


We always end class with Savasana, so you leave feeling relaxed and renewed. My personal mantra is Yoga is for “every body” my classes are inclusive and will provide modifications where needed, so people of all ages and abilities can be part of the class. 


Yoga and holistic therapies have changed my life, and I want to share that passion with everyone in my classes, helping people to feel their best selves and to also create a sense of community with others.

Meet Senior Yoga Teacher Nilesh!

My journey with yoga began in 1983 during my university years. 


Initially, I practiced yoga intermittently to complement my karate training. Over time, as I experienced its profound benefits, yoga became an integral part of my life.


 Now, every moment on the mat brings me joy and deeper self-discovery. As a seasoned martial artist with decades of teaching experience in karate, I bring a unique approach to my yoga practice. I integrate martial arts techniques with yoga, weaving in philosophical insights to nurture both physical and mental development. 


In my classes, you'll experience a supportive, inclusive atmosphere where judgment has no place and every individual is celebrated. 


My passion is to help others begin their own yoga journey, offering guidance as they grow and transform through their practice. 


Let’s work together to create a space where your practice can evolve, flourish, and inspire. Teaching yoga is my way of sharing its transformative power, and I’m truly honoured to guide you along this path.

I started taking classes at PrimaYoga about 18 months ago, looking for some balance in my life and a way to stay fit. 


I quickly fell in love with the practice and the warm, welcoming community here.


These days, I also support Cheryl with admin tasks, so you might see me around the studio or hear from me by email. 


I'm always happy to help — if you have any questions that aren’t answered on the website, feel free to reach out!

I had to change. Even with my anxiety, I felt there was more I could do. Through the nutritional detox, I refocused on myself. I found it simple and different from what I was used to, and soon, all my worries and apprehensions vanished. The costs are like what I spend on food and going out anyway, and it isn't time-consuming, difficult, or bland. It just works. 


Fizz Sticks are my favourite, but I like them all! I am happy and positive as my energy and mental health have improved. I have enjoyed every step of my journey and continue to eat healthily and live well.

More on Cheryl's background and training...

Cheryl, an ex-professional ballerina, is an accomplished dancer.

Following her training as an ex-professional ballerina, Cheryl is an accomplished dancer. She trained at the Royal Ballet School and has developed an international career as a ballet and contemporary dancer, performing, learning, and creating with world-class creativity within the ballet and contemporary dance professions.


As a qualified teacher, Cheryl loves teaching and education. Nevertheless, she teaches ballet to contemporary dancers at DeMontfort University, Leicester, passing on her dance knowledge to the next generation of young dancers. In 2010, she co-founded Addict Dance Academy in Leicester, now an established dance school.


The way that has always fascinated Cheryl, the human body moves. It was during her dance career that she discovered yoga. In her first class, she was amazed at how these tools enabled her to connect her body, mind, and energy deeply, creating an inner sense of calm and freedom.


Having completed her Sun Power Yoga 200-hour RYS Yoga Alliance Certification and her Level 3 and 4 Personal Trainer and Nutritionist Qualifications. Besides teaching her students the benefits of yoga, she incorporates her blend of traditional styles, including Pranayama (breathwork), Asana (physical postures), Mindfulness, and Relaxation.


Cheryl also holds a master's degree in choreography. She enjoys creating flow-based sequences that combine her ballet and yoga training for those who enjoy movement and want to connect with their bodies differently. These sequences maintain a connection to breathing and body and improve self-awareness. Dedicated to her spiritual practice, Cheryl has expanded her knowledge of many holistic practices and subjects, including Divine Feminine energy work, Energy Coaching, Meditation, Nutrition, Personal Development, Massage, and Essential Oils.


The mission is to empower people by teaching them these tools so they can experience a better quality of life and then enjoy doing the things they love.


Cheryl teaches students of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Our 1:1 clients want to explore their practice and awakening and spiritual development journey. Cheryl's passion marks every class, joy, and expertise, and her experience and knowledge.
